A Rain’s Quest novel

Blood And rain

After a treacherous, fourteen-hundred mile journey through broken, overgrown roads, hazardous ruins, and sudden monster attacks, Rain Dare and her companions arrive in the city of Wolf Haven. From the name alone, they expect a safe harbor, but Wolf Haven isn’t the refuge its name advertises.

Rain wants to keep her Kaleidoscope Pack protected, but she cannot prevent them from making their own contributions to their pack’s well-being. Aryk and Maya take potentially dangerous but well-paid jobs with the Western Sentinels, while Qzyx takes Owen off to scavenge ruins far outside the city for greater rewards. When Valery speaks of evil on their second day in Wolf Haven and prophesizes danger a few weeks later, her warnings are received without surprise.

Compounding Rain’s worries, there appears to be no safety inside the city either, as she soon discovers when she stumbles upon the body of a murdered young mage. Learning that this is the fourth such death within a year without a killer being discovered disturbs her sense of justice.
